Giovanna Who? - Few athletes inspired like Giovanna this season. This ponytail Princess has shown time and again over the past two years that she is one of the strongest talents in the 800m distance. But she may have something to prove this time around, making her first National appearance in 800m race when she goes for Gold at the Annual Youth Outdoor Nationals held in Detroit, Michigan.
Her third place performance at the Pacific Association Championships, where her 2:25:64 was a Personal Best and All American performance would ranked her #6 in the Nation and gain the respect of all her peers. Since the begining of the season she's been a roll, coming up big numerous times and showing that she's taken that step into becoming a consistent contender on the National stage.
Last weekend at the PA Championships, Giovanna move up to test her skills in the longer distance and with an impressive 5:10.44 at 1500 meters she could very well make her case as one of the most dangerous middle distance runner in the association.
Her first test comes at the Youth Outdoor Championships, where she'll have a chance to to run for gold in the most prestigious race in distance running, 800 Meters. The loudest cheer at the starting line could very well be for Giovanna as her stock price seems to rise with each race.

Says Coach Al "She's been on a tear and rapidly rounding into form, showing she's learning and improving. She responds well rehearsing the objectives at practice and works hard and hard work is what hard work does".
Some of the Nations best will line up and dot the line on Jun 30th as the battle begins to see who's the best 800 meter specialist in the country. One thing is for certain, there can only be One champion and the G-Girl looks to etched her name into history
