SAN JOSE, CA — Alexandra Diaz of LSI and Gerald Belong of ISC have been named the outstanding Boy's and Girl's performers following their outstanding performances at the 2009 Hershey City Wide Championships .
Alexandra posted an outstanding time of 12.42 and 25.37 in the Girl's Group III 100 and 200 meters finals to lead both events. She would later storm home in the final leg of the 4x100 to take the tape for Team San Jose. Alexandra winner of the 2007 Nor Cal Hershey's State Championship at 200 meters also won a 2007 National title in the 200 Meters at the Hershey's National Championship. Returning for her last season, Alexandra hopes to repaeat history at the 2009 Nor Cal State Championship.
Participating for the first time Gerald belong (ISC), a newcomer to Hershey, ran a blazing 11.49 and 23.96 to win both titles in the Boys's Group III 100 and 20 meters. Gerald was quick to gain a sense of the prestige of the Hershey event and is hoping to win his first Nor Cal State Championship title.
