Here come the Girls in Black!
Tater Tot, Holding her 2nd Place Ribbon
Palo Alto - The 2009 Outdoor track and field season is back in full stride and it was EPA Greyounds at the helm. Sunny and warm weather prevailed during the third annual East Palo Alto Greyhound Sectional Saturday at Gunn High School. With Fast Action and Fast times all were out in attendance as the meet would prove to be an early test for many PA teams. For many this weekend would mark the chance to test their legs against rivals. While Head to Head match ups answer many questions some were indeed left unanswered.

But never-the-less it was a beautiful day in the flatlands of Palo Alto and with plenty action LSI was in the middle! The story unfolded with some very solid sprint performances. Leading the small group of girls was Sydnie Bunel competing in the 100,200 and 400. With a fervent and unequivical beliefe sydney would rely on her technique to pull off her performances.

Giovanna Raffin was set to showcase in the Midget Girls 200 and 400 dash where she was looking to clock a personal best of 1:04. Taylor Craft showed no obstacle would stand in her way as she would later hurdle her way to a second place finish in the youth girls 100H.

Isabelle Connell, LSI's newest member would make her debut in the Youth Girls 200 Meter dash. Not a favorite of hers but a necessary prelude to her training and with Alexandra Diaz rounding out the five, looking to take top honors in the 100 and 200. Alex was showing veteran poise.

And although the Veterans receive much of the attention, the athlete with perhaps the most momentum entering her race was LSI 1st ever sub-bantam Tater Tot! Tater Tot was all smiles, while placing second in the Tottler 50 meter sprint. She's already talking about making a comeback next year....tatata tatata tater tot!
