2008 AAU JUNIOR OLYMPIC GAMES
DETROIT, MI: 2008 AAU JUNIOR OLYMPIC GAMES is underway at the EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY. The eight day event kicked off on Saturday July 26 and is scheduled to take place through August 2. The National Event includes some of the countries top youth, prep and high school athletes.

With 9300 participants; Held on the campus of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, the Opening Celebration of Athletes was one of the most memorable nights of the 2008 AAU Junior Olympic Games. The celebration featured entertainment and sport demonstrations. But perhaps the highlight of the evening took place in the middle of the ceremony when the Finals for the Youth Boys and Girls 200 Meter Hurdles got off to a fast start to raise the bar with some already memorable highlights.

With the Qualifying and Semi Final rounds already completed, tomorrow will bring with it the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat as the final rounds for the 100m, 200m, 400, 4x100 and 4x400 are set to get underway. As sparks set to fly the stakes are high as months of hard work get put to the test in a competition where the winner takes all.
