Phoenix Arizona Classic Invitational Takes Flight
PHOENIX - The Phoenix Arizona Classic Invitational scheduled for Sat-Sun. Apr. 5-6 at Glendale Jr. College is regarded as the first major event of the youth outdoor track and field season. The Phoenix Invitational is one of the biggest and highly-anticipated track meets on the West Coast, featuring many of the top youth athletes from around the country.

This year, the Phoenix Invitational should provide fast times and great excitement during two full days and will feature a mixture of regional and national programs that will include Arizona Elite, Colorado Flyers, Texas Stars, San Diego Cheetahs, Seattle_Speed, Vegas_Lightning, California Quick Silver, 3MTC, Hilltop Speed, LSI Sprint and many, many more.

The meet begins Saturday morning at 8 a.m. with the Young Men's 5K run continuing with the 100 and 200 prelims in the afternoon and finishing the evening with the Midgets 80 Hurdles and the 4x400 relay.

Saturday's competition begins at 8 a.m. with the Intermediate Girls 5K Race Walk scheduling on to the 100 and 200m finals and finally ending the excitement with the 4x100 relay.

Armed with a resume of outstanding sprinters and hurdlers the Pacific Associations LSI Sprint, 3MTC, Hilltop Speed and B# Sharp will lead a strong group of athletes as the invitational is expected to draw a large crowd. Last season the Phoenix Invitational produced over 100 participating teams and expects to swell to record numbers this season.

Since its inception the invitational has grown in both size and stature. As one of the fastest growing premier Track Meets of the season fans can expect jam-packed, non-stop action as we set sail for the 2008 Phoenix Arizona Classic Invitational.
