Another year approaches and before we know it Track Season will be well underway. It is after all a favorite gathering of mine. Every year for 10 months I have the pleasure of hosting a Track Team for a hand full of the most beautiful and brightest kids one could ever come to know ..... and each year I am reminded just how blessed I am to be one of very few people who have had the pleasure of sharing their time and space.

They are the good news that I don't get hear.... the Dreams that I have not fulfilled and the zest I once admired in my own youth. Our time together is meaningful and our conversations real and is at best measured in the wealth of Love, Strength and Integrity, which brings me to this years "Mantra".

In its entirety L.S.I. stands for Learning Speed Intelligently. Its not who we are, its what we do. Its a name we've chose because of its simple meaning and obvious implications to our sport. A name that we will take pride for and continue to stand by.

However; this year L.S.I will carry with it another meaning .... Love Strength and Integrity.

It's something we've chosen because we want our young people to learn early on what we've learned later in life. That we are all of divine purpose and it is Love, Strength and Integrity that will amplify our capability, character and courage.

LOVE - will be our love for this sport and the supremacy of our friendships in it. The Honor we pay to our families and all those who have come before us and made it all possible.

STRENGTH - will be our strength to over come adversities, our misfortunes and our fears.

INTEGRITY - is our efforts to be complete and undivided and will not look for the approval of others except in the consciousness of doing our best.

So its with Pride that we wear these RED bands. To internalize this mantra and serve as a constant reminder of encouragement and support in our development of Mind, Body and Soul and in our quest to become good citizens, successful students and accomplished athletes.
